Bah, I am still tired from the weekend. On Friday I went to York (outside Toronto) to play a floorball tournament. Great fun with the lads both on and off the field (the Wife stayed at home, a nine hour car ride with some farty dudes wasn't appealing to her). We played five games in three days with a 3-1-1 record. Unfortunately, the only loss came in the quartefinals... Kudos to S for scoring in his first tournament and later showing a bunch of cones who is boss.
Playing in the tournament made me feel old, very old. The kids we were playing against were mostly in the early twenties, my teammates and I are in our thirties... Luckily we can still kick the kids' behinds were it matters, in drinking (I will not expand on the drinking part. If you know me and my teammates, you should know what I am talking about).
Four weeks to go until the birth of Samster. We are more or less ready for Samster's arrival, just need to wash the baby clothes and put up some curtains. The Wife's belly is big and moves quite a lot when Sam is trying to get comfortable in there.
More and more, she is transforming into mama-mode, I am still clueless and in denial of what will happen in about a month.

Guest post by the Wife
As a pregnant lady, it feels like I've heard it all... questions about twins, being called huge and tired and miserable, being told that I am carrying wide practically daily, and now the predictions of just how giant Sam is going to be. These things annoy me, yes, but nothing gets under my skin quite so much as the word... waddle. F calls me Mamma Pingvin. It is sweet and endearing, and yes, I do resemble a penguin when I walk. Strap 30 pounds to the front of anyone and gait adjustments will have to be made. I have to heave myself out of bed, grunt when I roll over, and it's now a challenge to bend over. None of these occur while I am at work or out in the world. I think I do a good job day-to-day getting my work done without anyone knowing about my discomfort (well, except for the day last week when my freakin' maternity pants were too tight around the waist... I just had to complain!). All this is to say, that if you mention you saw me in the morning,, it's okay to lie (?) and say that I looked good. If you can't do that, please just don't say you saw me waddling across the street. Unless you're my husband and can also make me feel beautiful and loved, you're just being a jerk

So Much Action
The Wife turns 30 tomorrow, Happy Birthday Wifey! Nothing crazy planned, we are going to dinner at a Moroccan place called Figs. Birthday gift has been bought, now I only need to get her something belated for Mother's Day. Even though I got many hints for what to give her, I still didn't get her anything. Maybe I'll do better next year.
Samster's room and the rest of the house is slowly coming together. The plan is to finish assembling the crib and rocking chair this week, the dresser is already in place. I think Sambo has a nicely sized room, I am sure he/she will like it.
Speaking of the Samster, only six more weeks to go until due date. Time for me to get nervous yet? Sam has now turned and head is pointing downwards. Maybe it will be harder to feel the hiccups now. Did not know babies get hiccups in the belly, now I do and it feels very cool.
On Sunday, I brewed my first batch of beer. It went well, but I have to wait four weeks until I can try it. I brewed a copper colored IPA, next up is a black IPA.
I am planning to post photos, stay tuned and patient until I do.

Shower Time
Saturday was shower time. Yes, I was there. No, I was not the center of attention. Yes, I was hiding in a corner drinking beer and chatting with whomever was available.
The shower was planned by the mother of The Wife and two childhood friends (S+G). Kudos to the ladies for organizing everything!
Knowing my place and role at the shower, I was mostly hanging out in the kitchen and watching the Wife open the gifts from afar. We got a lot of useful stuff, especially the car seat. Thank you, the mother of the Wife.
Hard to believe that next month is the due date. In about eight weeks, I'll become a dad and life will change.
