Past Due Date

Yesterday was the estimated due date. Well, the day passed without a birth of Sam or any other pre-labor indications. The Wife is still doing well and keeps waddling along. Hopefully she can stop imitating penguins and start walking like a normal person soon. She thinks Sam will be born this weekend, I'm leaning more towards the middle of next week. I hope she is right, I am eager to meet the baby and get this family life rolling for real. If no Sam is born by Thursday next week, the midwives will start discussing induction. That would suck, induction and the use of other "aggressive" methods is something we want to avoid if possible.

As we are getting closer to the end of pregnancy, it feels like the last nine months have moved along quickly and that it was yesterday when we found out we are having a Samster. The coming nine months will be even quicker, but I am looking forward to it!

Philly Beer Week

Hello,
I survived beer week even though my buddy, who visited from Sweden, did his best to kill my liver. It was good to see someone from home, he was my first visitor from the motherland since June of last year when he last visited. We had a good time trying new beers (Cali-Belgique IPA) and old trusted friends (Crooked Tree IPA). We even squeezed in a trip to DC to check out the White House and Capital Brewing Company.

Tomorrow is Thursday. On Thursday, there are only seven more days until the due date. I have a feeling that Sam won't come until after 6/23, probably around 6/27 would be my (un)qualified guess.

We are ready for the baby, now the waiting continues.

Full Term

The Wife has now reached full term, the ending is near. Even though the due date is not for another 14 days, Samster is fully developed and ready for a life outside the belly. I think I am ready to meet Sam too. We got the car seat checked to make sure it was properly installed (it was, yay me!) and all the baby clothes have been washed. Now the waiting game is on.
