I am still here. The last few weeks have been pretty busy and my "inspiration" to post blog entries has faltered.
On 7/3 at 11:48 am and after many hours of labor, Benjamin was born. He weighed 4400 grams and measured 22 inches long. I won't bore you with details from labor, all I can say is that I didn't sleep for 37 hours and that the Wife kicked butt! I am very proud of her and her efforts of pushing that giant baby out.
Benjamin, the giant baby, is doing well. Coming home from the hospital was weird, but it also felt natural. Even though I had not changed a single diaper before, I dove right in and made sure his behind was clean and dry. He is a nice baby and lets me sleep during the nights (The Wife takes care of feeding day and night) and run in the mornings (I have probably run five times in three weeks, I don't consider me to be a avid runner).
With the Wife responsible with the small task of feeding and keeping Benji alive, I am helping out with the rest of the chores. Cooking, cleaning, laundry, she names it and I do it. Luckily, I am a modern man who can cook...
People keep asking me what it feels like to be a dad. Honestly, I feel the same I did before. I don't interact with Benjamin, I merely take care of him. That is because he has no clue who I am and is only interested in eating and pooping. Will my feelings change as he gets older? I sure expect it!
Anyway, I apoligise for this rambling post. I hope to be posting more regular updates in the future, can't promise any improvement in quality though...
Have a good weekend.
